What we do: 

The Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York implements monetary policy on behalf of the Federal Reserve System, provides payments and custody services to foreign central banks, and acts as fiscal agent for the U.S. Treasury Department.

You will support the Head of Market Operations, Monitoring and Analysis (MOMA) and the System Open Market Account (SOMA) Manager with day-to-day office activities. Managing the calendar, schedules and coordinating meetings, and arranging complex travel and detailed itineraries. Obtaining and organizing information for use in meetings, conferences, speeches, and reports.

Your role as Executive Assistant:


  • Understand the daily, near term and annual priorities of MOMA and the Markets Group, and work with those inside and outside of the Bank to ensure priorities can be met, including a full range of executive management and office management activities.


  • Often partnering with the MOMA Chief of Staff, interacting with Bank personnel, and entities and individuals outside the Bank, including senior officers at other Reserve Banks, members of the Board of Governors, and business, community, and other leaders.


  • Heavy schedule management to respond to ever-changing needs including coordination among multiple departments. Calendar maintenance and management are particularly important.


  • Coordinate complex travel arrangements and execute on reimbursement processes.


  • Read and prioritize large quantities of email and internal correspondence to ensure prompt responses where warranted. Provide telephone coverage. Channel information or requests for information to the appropriate officers/staff in the Bank. Work independently prioritizing and communicating the activities of the Office during business travel.


  • Suggest improvements in the ongoing processes and continually seek greater efficiency and effectiveness. Share best practices throughout the Bank and across the System.


  • Develop spreadsheets, tables and charts as needed for tracking and informational purposes


  • Compose and proofread correspondence and support briefing materials and presentations.


  • Format information for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, reports; create and update organizational charts, and other items in Visio and in PowerPoint.


  • Take minutes during meetings.


  • Provide back-up support to other Administrative Assistants within the Markets Group.


  • Ad-hoc assignments and projects, as necessary.


What we are looking for:


  • Must be a self-starter, with excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, coordinate multiple calendars and schedule a high-volume of internal and external meetings; work independently and follow through to resolve day-to-day administrative matters


  • Proven ability to appropriately interact with all levels of management, including high-level official contacts and visitors


  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling sensitive data and confidential information


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a virtual environment and provide back up support to the Group's administrative support services team


  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance, excellent prioritization and organizational and skills


  • Excellent at leveraging technology, including, proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Teams) and other Bank applications used by the Administrative Team, such as Workday and SharePoint
