Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools/equipment, conveyor systems, handling equipment and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Ability to use precision measuring and testing instruments as required
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
Diagnose and repair equipment as required
Able to independently test operation of equipment following repair or service to assure acceptability
Diagnose & perform electrical repair or installation to meet applicable codes and requirements
Perform plumbing repair or installation to meet applicable codes and requirements
Install conduit and wiring for new equipment, or repairs as required
Install piping, hoses and tubing for air, hydraulic and water as required
Read and interpret complex hydraulic drawings and schematics
Possess and demonstrate very strong troubleshooting and job/work planning skills
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
Assist in training maintenance personnel of lower classification as required
Perform tasks with minimal supervision
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Follow all applicable work instructions, specifications, and requirements
Follow all Company Rules, Procedures and Policies
Follow all Company Safety Rules
Any other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Course study in mechanics, electrical, electronics, metallurgy or related field from a high school, technical school or community college
Minimum three years maintenance and machine tool repair experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for electrical and hydraulics
Strong verbal and analytical skills
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and push/pull up to 75 pounds
Ability to read, write and speak well in English
Ability to understand and execute instructions well
Must be able to pass applicable testing as required
