Job Description:

SUMMARY

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools/equipment, conveyor systems, handling equipment and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.


• Ability to use precision measuring and testing instruments as required


• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment


• Diagnose and repair equipment as required


• Able to independently test operation of equipment following repair or service to assure acceptability


• Diagnose & perform electrical repair or installation to meet applicable codes and requirements


• Perform plumbing repair or installation to meet applicable codes and requirements


• Install conduit and wiring for new equipment, or repairs as required


• Install piping, hoses and tubing for air, hydraulic and water as required


• Read and interpret complex hydraulic drawings and schematics


• Possess and demonstrate very strong troubleshooting and job/work planning skills


• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt


• Assist in training maintenance personnel of lower classification as required


• Perform tasks with minimal supervision


• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs


• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends


• Follow all applicable work instructions, specifications, and requirements


• Follow all Company Rules, Procedures and Policies


• Follow all Company Safety Rules


• Any other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Course study in mechanics, electrical, electronics, metallurgy or related field from a high school, technical school or community college


• Minimum three years maintenance and machine tool repair experience


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for electrical and hydraulics


• Strong verbal and analytical skills


• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and push/pull up to 75 pounds


• Ability to read, write and speak well in English


• Ability to understand and execute instructions well


• Must be able to pass applicable testing as required
