The Environmental Manager has responsibilities which include:
Leadership role in promoting Nucor's Mission by ensuring the safety and development of the team with an appropriate focus on community & environmental stewardship, and profitability
Leadership role in managing the division's environmental activities including compliance, permitting and relationships with State and Federal environmental agencies
Leadership role in developing environmental strategy with a focus on relationships with operations/maintenance/administrative departments and continuous cost reduction
Analyze data and situations, think strategically, negotiate effectively, and manage multiple projects
Recruit and develop Environmental department team members through training and individual reviews/coaching

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years Environmental leadership experience
4-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous steelmaking or heavy manufacturing experience
Registered environmental credentials and/or professional engineering licenses
Experience with environmental permitting (air, water, waste)
