JOB Summary 

The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for leading premium and Customer retention forecasting analysis.  This position will perform financial analysis, reporting of financial information, presentation preparation and ad-hoc projects. This position will also reconcile actual results against plan and projections, identifying and explaining variances. Communicate issues to management to mitigate delays, expense and timing disruptions.

Responsibilities 


  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial report, to include variance analysis, building presentation slides, and providing explanations for unusual items or trends

  • Prepare monthly analysis of volume, revenue and material cost, including variance analysis

  • Assist in preparation and loading of forecast and budget files

  • Perform data mining for ad-hoc analyses and communicate findings to business management across all functional teams

  • Build dynamic Excel models and automate repetitive tasks

  • Develop a robust understanding of TM1 reports

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization

  • Administer claim payments, premium application, journal entries & appointment/commission tracking.

Skills


  • 3-5 years of work experience

  • Has an applied technical foundation with Microsoft products and ideally has exposure to other software products (i.e.,TM1, PeopleSoft, Power BI)

  • Takes initiative to identify basic items that are out of pattern that warrant investigation and independently initiates research. 

  • Comes to manager with complete result, has formed his/her views and has a recommended course of action.  Can present an issue or task effectively either through verbal or written communication. 

Education and Experience 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Accounting or Finance required

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of accounting or financial planning & analysis experience

  • Public Accounting experience and/or CPA or MBA designation a plus

  • Insurance industry experience beneficial
