Responsibilities
Provide overall direction, training and supervision to maintenance supervisor and maintenance staff and outside suppliers.
Responsible for ensuring safe work practices of personnel, proper management of resources, quality services and business objectives are achieved.
Establish maintenance routines and procedures.
Plan, budget, schedule, and co-ordinate capital projects.
Provide manufacturing engineering services to site.
Direct environmental functions at location.
Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of HS&E practices
Responsible for product management of departmental budget, including budget preparation and cost control.
Member of Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting, and implementing TQM.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical
Five to eight years of experience in a manufacturing/process environment in maintenance, process, plant engineering or manufacturing functions
Must have demonstrated project/management skills coupled with good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be a strong planner and well organized, able to handle conflicting priorities, experienced in managing contractors and technical staff
Excellent technical knowledge including applicable engineering principles and codes, safety and environmental requirements, and other related legislation
Understanding of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements and work procedures
Preference given to those with 3rd/4th class steam engineer ticket or steam experience
Good computer skills (spreadsheets, CAD, etc.)
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen
Leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to share and transfer knowledge and skills to / with others.
Dependable and self-motivated individual with good attendance / disciplinary and safety record who can work effectively with minimal supervision.
Detail orientated individual with excellent thinking and trouble-shooting skills; able to make decisions based on information and analysis.
Some math and computer skills are essential to perform job duties.
