Job Description:

Reports to the Manager, Accounting and Finance. Performs routine accounting functions and assists with projects.MISSION, VALUES and SERVICE GOALS

• Participates in month-end close activities by:


• Posting and reviewing journal entries. Also, assisting Senior Accountants and Accounting Manager with journal entries.

• Reviewing daily reports.


• Inputting financial information to a PC.

• Voiding checks.


• Placing stop payments on checks (with banks).


• Following up on un-cashed checks.


• Inputting invoices

• Performing functions necessary for special projects.


• Assuming daily assignments in other departments within the Financial Services.

• Completing other job-related assignments and projects as assigned.

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

• Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.


• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.


• Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.


• Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.


• Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.

• The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through attendance and current enrollment in undergraduate courses from an approved school of business, preferably as an accounting major and knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software. Two or more years of undergraduate accounting studies are preferred.

• Requires analytical ability to make necessary calculations, balance records, and prepare reports.


• Requires basic knowledge of accounting including the chart of accounts and journal entries.


• Requires ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment, including a 10-key calculator and a personal computer.


• Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with other staff members and those outside the organization.


• Demonstrates ability to elicit cooperation and support from others and to interact tactfully and effectively with co-workers, managers, and other System staff members.

• Works in an office environment.

• Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
