We are seekgin a Procurement Analyst for our Olathe, KS location. This individual will analyze, facilitate and coordinate projects to optimize procurement operations activities
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyze procurement, material and financial data. Goal is to identify value drivers and risk factors throughout the procurement chain.
Work closely with buyers, planners, and materials associates to optimize inventory through the analysis and development of improvement plans in areas such as order policies, safety stock, inventory turns, etc.
Develop improvement strategies for the supply chain in the following areas: consignment program, supplier Kanban, e-commerce or e-business to e-business web programs, supplier managed inventory, schedule sharing, contract reviews etc.
Apply analytical tools such as Cost/Price Analysis, Activity Based Costing, Value Analysis, Spend Analysis, or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as requested. Provide training and support throughout department.
Develop and maintain internal departmental metrics and measurements, utilizing statistical process control or other applicable measurement tools
Review and compile inventory costing records, such as Purchase Price Variance (PPV), scrap and rework costs
Assist Supplier Development Coordinator and Buyers with material flow issues to improve supplier quality or delivery performance.
Lead internal improvement initiatives to streamline processes and make more effective use of information technology, using knowledge of department processes and procedures, work instructions and training requirements for the Purchasing Department, in support of ISO9000/QS9000
Mentor assigned Purchasing personnel in support of departmental training, work instructions, processes and procedures
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as back up for Buyer/Planner or Supplier Development Coordinator, as needed, for vacation or absentee coverage
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Associates degree in an Operations related field AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Material or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written negotiation and analytical skills
Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines
Must be a motivated self starter
Must have a demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines with uncompromising ethics
Must possess demonstrated knowledgeable of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)/Master Production Schedule (MPS) process
Demonstrated proficient knowledge of manufacturing requirements and ability to asses supplier capabilities
Demonstrated proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
Previous work or internship experience working in a manufacturing environment
