Summary of Duties:


The Program Coordinator provides support for the Brelsford WSU Visitor Center program which includes campus host services, special events, administration, fiscal support, public relations and outreach, and K-8 field trips. This position reports to a manager and supervises the activities of student hourly temporary employees.





Required Qualifications:




  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.




  • Program Specialty: marketing, public relations, communications or related field.




  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring budgets and executing financial, retail, and accounting transactions.




  • Demonstrated customer service and public relations skill and experience.




  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills.




  • Experience supervising, or leading a team to complete short- and long-term tasks/projects/goals.




  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, or upon request with appropriate notice.




  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.






Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience working with events, marketing, public relations, and media relations in higher education or similar institutional setting or organization.




  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of State of Washington business licensing processes and procedures.




  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of State of Washington retail alcohol sales, regulations and laws.




  • Experience with retail and point of sale systems, including inventory controls and monitoring.




  • Experience in organizing and/or supporting special events.




  • Demonstrated experience with human resource and staffing processes, including interviewing, hiring and on boarding.




  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a food worker card.
