Position Summary

The Strategy & Development Manager will work as a member of the leadership team, supporting the VP, Development & Strategy on acquisitions, major capital expenditures, greenfield sites and other key projects and strategic initiatives. This individual will be highly analytical and driven, leveraging their analytical mindset to develop, advise on, and implement strategic initiatives, and collaborate with region presidents, business unit leaders and other members of the senior leadership team across the company on various strategy development initiatives and acquisition projects.

Here's What You'll Get to Do:

  • Assist with the acquisition (M&A) process including strategic planning, market assessments, business assessments, due diligence, valuation, contract negotiation, integration and post-closing issue tracking
  • Aid in identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and pursuing attractive opportunities, including organic growth projects as well as mergers, and acquisitions
  • Assist in creating and efficiently managing strategic projects to drive revenue growth, value enhancement, and cost optimization
  • Analyze potential growth markets
  • Prepare ad-hoc research for the VP of Development, Presidents and other members of the management team
  • Prepare detailed financial models to evaluate businesses and product lines
  • Review and organize strategy material and transaction documentation
  • Assist with the development of strategic plans for companies and divisions
  • Draft proposals, presentations and other deliverables to senior leadership in support of acquisitions, investments and other strategic initiatives
  • Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the VP, Strategy and Development as well as OBE Senior Leadership on a wide variety of strategic initiatives & market intelligence for short- & long-term plans
  • Transform information and analyses into actionable decision frameworks
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement business transactions from due diligence through completion
  • Participate in ongoing analyses of the economic, demographic, and competitive landscapes for current and potential markets and risks and opportunities to the business
  • Master and maintain knowledge of the business, competition and latest industry news and trends

Here's What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree in Business Administration preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, with corporate development, consulting, investment banking or private equity experience highly preferred, with experience in in the building materials industry is a plus
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills, with strengths in the areas of strategic thinking, financial modeling, assessing business risk and displaying the ingenuity and tenacity to successfully close deals
  • Strong financial, analytical, forecasting, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, proven track record for speed of execution with accuracy
  • Comfortable and flexible to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • High learning agility and drive to achieve
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-25%
