POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Analyzer/Measurement Technician reports directly to the Analyzer/Measurement Supervisor and is a member of a multi-disciplined crew responsible for all analyzer/instrument related maintenance activities of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal. Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal. All activities will be delivered maintaining Cheniere’s core values: teamwork, respect, accountability, integrity, nimble and safety.

KNOWLEDGE

Understand plant surroundings and identify relevant plant equipment. Understand the physical properties of cryogenic processes. Possess basic knowledge of safe handling practices, governmental regulations and related technical and safety codes, standards, and reporting requirements. Must have knowledge of plant rules and guidelines regarding relevant equipment operations, certification requirements, FERC, USCG, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Possess knowledge of plant equipment maintenance protocols, equipment diagnostics, and building construction and repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance with  DOT,  FERC,  OSHA,  USCG,  and  other  governing  organizations  as applicable

  • Maintains the facility recognizing the environmental consequences of actions taken and striving for the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance

  • Records maintenance data and informs the supervisor of potential problems and failures in a timely manner

  • Works with Analyzer/Measurement Supervisor and production team to resolve problems and improve plant reliability and safety

  • Performs maintenance and calibration on all gas chromatographs, CO2, H2O, Instruments

  • Performs maintenance and calibration on meter skid instrumentation and related instruments

  • Performs maintenance and calibration on tank gauging instrumentation and systems

  • Trains on environmental safety, operations and security procedures annually

  • Performs all duties applying safety protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates

  • Diagnose malfunctioning analyzer systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to find the cause of breakdown and correct the problem

  • Carries out other assigned duties as responsibilities

  • Maintain calibration gases for analyzers

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis

  • Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies

  • Performs the duties of an Analyzer/Measurement Technician in an eight- or ten-hour day shift Monday through Friday

  • Available to work a rotating shift schedule


QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS)




  • Education and Certifications: High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required. Formal education in related technical or engineering discipline or related military training/experience is desirable. Complete all Company-provided training on the various types of equipment in LNG facility. Additionally, the following training curriculum is required:

    • Analyzer/Measurement maintenance, including air, water, sanitation and nitrogen systems

    • Maintenance on meter skid instrumentation and related instruments

    • Maintenance and calibration on all gas chromatographs

    • Ship loading/ unloading systems

    • Emergency shutdown (EDS) systems

    • Fire and gas detection and suppression systems

    • Maintenance on tank gauging instrumentation and systems

    • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) maintenance

    • Basic LNG plant operations, principles, and procedures

    • Basic Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) applications

    • Basic storage tank maintenance



  • Experience: Minimum of ten years of plant maintenance experience or formal education in related technical or engineering discipline. Experience with LNG or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids experience is a plus. 


  • Skills:

    • An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment

    • Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues, compliance with policies and procedures are all essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal

    • Able to follow directions and quickly formulate and effectively communicate questions if clarification of an assignment is required

    • Able to apply existing skills in new roles and or environments

    • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and have aptitude for learning new software applications and systems

    • Able to key features of relevant software to perform job duties

    • Ability to read and interpret schematics

    • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis

    • Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with personal characteristics of integrity, accountability and dependability is also required

WORK CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write

  • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height, and lift and move objects weighting up to 50 pounds

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors and exposed to year-round weather conditions, ocean environment, noise, and occasionally process gases and vapors. There is a considerable amount of outdoor activities involved

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere

  • Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities

  • Required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, and LNG Fire Fighting

  • All responsibilities must be met in a rotating shift environment, including holidays, weekends, and nights

  • Must be able to work up to 16 hours per day, weekends, callouts, and work flexible shifts

  • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status
