What we need:



Mohawk is looking for a Director of Direct Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing to lead procurement and sourcing for our North American group. This role will define sourcing strategies, implement process improvements and ensure that procurement and sourcing needs are met for manufacturing operations through quality materials, exceptional service and cost reduction.



What you'll do:

• Prioritize, research and execute Category Sourcing Strategies according to our Strategic Sourcing process
• Gain stakeholder support and utilize RFQs/ RFPs, targeted negotiation, etc. to lower total cost, reduce inventory/ working capital levels, bring supplier innovation, etc.
• Maintain supplier relationships and contract compliance while maintaining highest code of ethics and conduct
• Develop and implement initiatives to aggregate spend across all Mohawk business units
• Work with Manufacturing and R&D to develop product specifications and source substitute and new materials
• Identify and evaluate new/ increased sources of supply that support plant expansions, new products, and sustainability objectives
• Evaluate automation and sourcing improvement opportunities using SAP and other tools available (Smartsheet, PowerBI, RPA, etc).
• Manag a team of category managers, sourcing analysts and sourcing specialists

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations management or engineering
• Institute for Supply Chain Management CPM or CPSM certification (preferred)
• Certification in Six Sigma, TQM, TCO, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies (preferred)
• 8+ years of purchasing/ supply chain experience with 4+ years in management
