Job Description:

Crisis stabilization services are a first-line alternative to hospitalization in state hospitals, providing psychiatric stabilization and detoxification for adults age 18 and over on a short-term basis. Highland Rivers has three crisis stabilization units (CSUs) that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as emergency receiving and evaluation facilities. The CSUs are available to residents of all 12 counties Highland Rivers serves.

Highland Rivers is seeking an Activity Coordinator for the Crisis Stabilization Unit in Rome, GA.

Responsibilities include:

• Employee will conduct activity groups throughout the day.


• Employee is to help out with the case manager groups.


• Employee is to organize all activity groups in the day room.


• During the activity group the employee is to be sure phones and televisions are turned off.


• Employee will document all activity groups on a group sign in sheet as well as in CareLogic.


• Employee may be reassigned or asked to complete other task requested by the charge nurse.


• During the times the employee is not doing activity groups the employee should be letting individuals have outdoor times or keeping them occupied in other ways.


• Employee will alert the charge nurse of any issues that may occur or when he/she is going for lunch and leaving for the day.


• At times employee is to help cover lunches for HSTs.
