Directly reporting to the Assistant Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services, the Perioperative Services RN must be able to take direction from leaders efficiently and effectively. The Perioperative Services RN will also work closely with the Nurse Educator of Perioperative Services, and must continuously work to maintain the open line of communication when collaborating with the leadership team. The Perioperative Services RN will also be working closely with the other staff nurses, and will be supported daily by the entire perioperative services department.

The Perioperative Services RN will be tasked with assessing, identifying, planning, and treating each clinical situation occurring within the department. Working in a stressful environment, the Perioperative Services RN must be able to stay calm and provide the appropriate treatment needed in a timely manner. The Perioperative Services RN will be required to have strong communication skills and be able to work well with other nurses and providers to ensure optimal patient care. Additionally, the Perioperative Services RN must be organized when recording all pertinent information pertaining to patients of the department to ensure the proper care is being implemented within the department.
