Overview:

NSI-MI Technologies develops electronic equipment used in Automated Microwave Measurement Systems, including Microwave Receivers, Microwave Signal Sources, and Position Control instruments. The high performance demands of these Measurement Systems drive the specifications for each product to extreme precision, accuracy, and reliability. The role of the systems engineering co-op is to support development new systems as required based on customer needs and requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following and other duties as assigned.

• Design and development engineering support for:
  
  
  
  • RF instrumentation systems
    
  • Motion control systems
    
  • Electrical harness and wiring assemblies
    
• Test and troubleshooting of:
  
  
  
  • RF test systems in both engineering lab and manufacturing environments
    
  • Analog and digital circuit card assemblies
    
  • Antenna products in facility test ranges
    
• Development of high-quality engineering documentation associated with the designs
  

• Solid understanding of basic electrical engineering theory and concepts including electromagnetics, circuit design, motors, computer architectures and digital systems
  
• Ability to:
  
  
  • operate laboratory test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
    
  • produce high quality documents using Microsoft Office products
    
  • learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and work productively to solve a variety of problems
    
• Effective technical writing
  

Desirable skills:

• Experience using RF test equipment
  
• Strong fundamental background or experience in RF and/or antenna theory and concepts
  
• Strong fundamental background or experience in motors and/or motion control systems
  
• Experience using software tools - Visio, Solidworks or ADS
