The Compensation Analyst provides research, analysis, modeling, and administration of compensation initiatives, processes, communications, and projects throughout the year for an assigned business unit and the compensation team. This includes but is not limited to job evaluations, salary recommendations, merit processing, bonus programs, equity program, surveys (benchmark, market pricing, salary planning).
Job Responsibilities:
Consult & Collaborate:
Partner with assigned business line and provide guidance and recommendations that align to UNFI’s pay philosophy.
Conducts job evaluations for new or revised positions within assigned business unit by market pricing jobs and analyzing results to determine appropriate level and grade Ensuring wage and salary rate recommendations are equitable internally and externally.
Monitors market trends and evaluates external competitiveness of company's compensation programs.
Perform annual review of salary structures and wage grids, make recommendations for updates, and implement changes.
Conduct comprehensive analysis of pay, (using advanced excel) and prepare summary and recommendations
Develop communications, presentations and training materials as needed.
Review and approve offers and promotions to ensure fair pay, making recommendations as needed.
Survey Participation and Systems Audit
Participates in the annual salary survey process, managing the matching process, submitting the survey data, and uploading results.
Participants in job matching and match review.
Coordinates and reconciles data updates/corrections including file uploads to HRIS systems, payroll, compensation external systems.
Perform database maintenance and audits to ensure data integrity across various systems (PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, PayFactors) Analyze for accuracy/completeness, identify any issues/discrepancies, and create workflow processes. Perform testing as needed.
Prepare weekly/monthly reports to as necessary.
Audit reports and analysis for accuracy as needed.
Creates reports and updates current reports as needed.
Miscellaneous:
Manage job code process: creating new codes, auditing existing and updating as needed.
Coordinate and process spot bonuses and retention bonuses.
Manage SharePoint sites.
Create and contribute to the development of communications, PowerPoint presentations, dashboards, modeling, and predictive analytics with a focus of knowing the audience.
Contribute to the development, updating and implantation of operating policies, guidelines, procedures and training.
Serve on project teams such as merit planning and bonus planning.
Maintain awareness of special compensation programs (i.e. short-term incentive administration, long-term incentives, recognition, etc.) and provide support as needed.
Performs other relevant job duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, HR, or related field
Experience:
1-2 years of Compensation experience required
Experience in a human resources related role requiring analytical thought and working with large data sets.
Familiarity with the concepts, practices, and procedures related to compensation programs desired.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Solid understanding of compensation practices and trends
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables-lookups and formulas
Experience with HRIS Systems, PayFactors, PeopleSoft and SuccessFactors are a plus
Exceptional quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy and details
Comfortable analyzing and reporting data, with the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
Excellent presentation, communication, and consulting skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Physical Enviornment/Demands:
Some travel may be required
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
