As a Data Engineer Associate within PNC's Security Fusion Center, your focus will be primarily on creating, testing, deploying fraud detection rules and machine learning models in accordance with PNC's fraud strategy. This is a remote position, but in-person activities may occur periodically based on business need.

In this role, you will be working with tools and data sets that identify and support fraud detection, remediation, and prevention across the PNC footprint. You will draw upon a combination of problem-solving, analysis, systems, and product knowledge to establish and maintain fraud detection strategies needed to limit fraud losses. You may also work with key stakeholders across the bank to identify patterns within the account and transaction datasets and develop new strategies.

- Python Skills (NumPy, PYODBC, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PySpark, etc.)
- Working knowledge of ETL, Data Warehouse technologies, Hadoop, Teradata, Tableau
- Analytical aptitude, critical/strategic thinking skills
- Experience reading, writing, and editing outcome analysis and documentation
Desired Skills
- Experience in Enterprise Fraud Detection and Prevention
- Experience with Fraud Management Systems
- Knowledge of Machine Learning Algorithms and Data Visualization

Prior banking or financial services experience a plus.

This is a remote position and can sit anywhere within the PNC footprint, except for Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska. In person activities may occur periodically based on business need.

Job Description


  • Assists in developing, supporting and implementing data solutions for multiple applications in order to meet business objectives and user requirements. Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.

  • Performs data requirement analysis and the data preparation process development for targeted data solutions.

  • Assists in designing and building data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms, according the workflow.

  • Participates the development and implementation of data solutions for multiple applications to ensure its scalability, availability and maintainability.

  • Consults on data migration and transformation to ensure the accuracy and security of data solutions.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
