Evaluation of cognitive, developmental, behavioral, emotional, social deficits, and academic challenges. Works in the areas to include epilepsy, oncology, TBI, genetics, or neurocardiac programs with outpatient, inpatient, and clinic responsibilities. May participate in research protocols. Responsible for the supervision of interns and practicum students.
Job Specific Duties

- Conduct comprehensive interviews to ascertain reason for referral, patient concerns, medical, and psychosocial history. Determine the necessity for additional evaluation and plan assessment tools.
- Select, administer, and score neuropsychological, developmental, and psychological test measures.
- Interpret assessment results based on understanding of brain-behavior relationships using available evidence-based approaches to cognitive development and current research.
- Prepare integrated neuropsychological reports using data from tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, and interviews.
- Reports and provides recommendations for accommodation or remediation of deficient skills.
- Provide interpretative feedback to parents, primary caregivers, or members of the medical team.
- Provide education and/or short-term counseling to select families or individuals for effecting changes in behavior, emotions, motivation, social issues, etc.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and interdisciplinary staff meetings as needed to discuss and evaluate the diagnoses and treatment/management of patients and formulate rehabilitation plans.
- Support institutional research initiatives through provision of neuropsychological evaluation and consultative services.
- Maximize productivity efficiency while maintaining documentation and reporting standards, including order and progress note entry into Electronic Health Record.
