Associate Buyer/Merchant - Decor at Arhaus in Boston Heights, Ohio

Job Description:

The Associate Buyer/Merchant - Decor is responsible for supporting brand initiatives, balancing the open to buy, and achieving all aspects of assigned financial targets. This position is located on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Boston Heights, Ohio. 

Responsibilities:

• Work with Buyer/ DMM to develop and implement business strategies necessary to meet or exceed financial goals for assigned category and total company


• Partner with Product Development and Planning teams to assort product appropriate for business needs


• Work with planning partners to determine in season product promotions and mark downs


• Partner with Planning to review order/sales projections alongside trends and future business strategies.  Work with Merchant/ DMM to approve units investment by style


• Build seasonal line plan, work cross functionally with planning partners to support through open to buy


• Partner with Merchant to determine store distribution and selection of product mix in conjunction with Product Development, Planning, and Visual teams


• Responsible for allocating merchandise to stores or delegating to Assistant Merchant


• Clear knowledge of target customer and competitive market as related to product assortment and pricing


• Create, maintain, and report all product sales data for evaluation purposes as required by the DMM and GMM


• Promptly respond to store personnel questions, comments, and requests via category inbox


• Collaborate with Store and Visual Managers to evaluate and maximize individual store sales based on product performance and mix, demographic, and target custom


• Responsible for catalog content, proofing, and collaborating with the marketing team as needed


• Other duties as may be determined by management to perform the necessary functions of the position on an as-needed basis

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field


• Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook


• 3+ years of Buying/Merchant experience


• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills


• Ability to think strategically with strong decision-making skills


• Ability to multitask effectively and to perform in a high-energy environment
