The Position

Branchburg is the molecular diagnostics manufacturing engine within Global Operations and a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) center of excellence. As the largest DIA manufacturing site in North America, our teams deliver a broad portfolio of PCR-based in-vitro diagnostic tests. Our operations include reagent and active diagnostic ingredient (ADI) production, filling and packaging. Our 63-acre site with ~1400 people is currently under expansion, fueled by our culture of agility, innovation and transformation. Each day we focus on delivering the value of Roche Diagnostics to patients around the world.

Sr. Instrumentation/ Calibration Technician - dayshift, onsite

Responsibilities:


  • Calibrates and performs preventative maintenance on process and laboratory instrumentation/Roche Brand equipment. Meets all schedules for calibrations and preventative maintenance.


  • Notifies Department Management when any instrument/equipment is nonconforming and follows up to ensure a timely response to the issue.


  • Assists/Leads in troubleshooting and/or repairing of instrument or equipment problems and resolving difficult problems in creative ways. Uses discretion and independent judgment to consider and determine appropriate solutions / actions.


  • Performs unscheduled calibration/preventive maintenance activities as needed to support owning departments.


  • Maintains technical department files (e.g. specification sheets, manuals).


  • Maintains department supplies required for performing calibrations/preventive maintenance, as applicable.


  • Coordinates with RMS department contacts to ensure timely calibration and/or preventative maintenance of instruments and equipment.


  • Participates/Leads in internal/external teams and relationships.


  • Performs training as required.


  • Performs calibration / preventive maintenance reviews / approvals, as applicable


  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:


  • High School diploma required.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.


  • Minimum of 5 years job related calibration experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or medical device) with basic knowledge of instrument support. 


  • ISA Level 1 certification; 5+ years in medical device industry with “hands on” experience with medical instrument maintenance. 


  • Excellent inter-personal and customer relationships.


  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills and Ability to Read P&IID Drawings.


  • Perform Technical Writing as Required.
