General Summary of Position:


The Vice Chancellor for Finance & Operations oversees the university's core business operations and finances, leading the divisions of Facilities Management, Budget & Financial Planning, Controller & Student Financial Services, Human Resources, Equal Opportunity & Outreach, Information Technology, Administrative Services and University Police. The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Operations (VCFO) provides direct administrative support to the Vice Chancellor and supports operational and administrative needs of diverse projects and multiple ongoing endeavors undertaken by the VCFO Office. This also includes special projects to improve processes and inform strategies. The EA is also part of the staff supporting Executive Cabinet activities and collaborates regularly with a diverse group of internal and external constituencies.


Minimum Qualifications (Required):



  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7-10 years increasing responsible administrative/office experience *
    will consider candidates with High School Diploma or GED/equivalent and 12+ years of directly related executive assistant-level experience with increasing responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft and Summit or other financial/HR systems

  • Demonstrated experience using MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail, work as part of a team, and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community


Additional Considerations:



  • Requires discretion in handling confidential information with regard to employee, students, real estate and legal matters


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in a university setting preferred
