Business Project Senior Advisor at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Job Description:

This Business Project Senior Advisor role reports into the Business PMO within Cigna's Medicare & CareAllies organization and will provide Project Management, Change Management and Business Readiness support on large and mid-sized time limited projects across Government Business Segment impacting multiple business or operational units.

This will include development and maintenance of integrated work plans, monitoring progress against goals, development and maintenance of cross-functional, matrixed relationships with business and IT, timely escalation of barriers to success along with identification of potential solutions, and providing concise and timely reporting tailored to appropriate stakeholder audiences. Projects can range in content including (but not limited to) organizational realignment, compliance, total medical cost initiatives, new product implementation, new process and technology creation and rollout.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develops program/project controls and artifacts to ensure consistent and timely reporting of key deliverables, risks and dependencies across program disciplines.


• Utilize established project and program methodology to develop project plans for assigned programs and projects. Where the methodology is not sufficient, create and augment with new processes and establish best practices


• Develop and maintains workplans that consider the priorities, key milestones, time and cost estimates, resource requirements, task sequencing and identification of tasks that may be performed concurrently to achieve objectives.


• Mentor and train junior PMs


• Ensure appropriate program/project governance and decision-making methodology are in place and adhered to.


• Ensure integrity of original business case is maintained & any adjustments are communicated & understood by all key stakeholders


• Ensure the timely and quality development and distribution of all deliverables for the program/project.


• • Evaluate program/project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.


• • Assist in maturing program/project management methodology, tools, and techniques


• Resolve issues and determines contingency plans and triggers for risks. As needed, escalates issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.


• Partner with matrix organizations to ensure that appropriate action is taken to identify and implement initiatives.


• Develop and implements communication and reporting mechanisms to maintain sponsor engagement and promote stakeholder adoption.


• Ensure appropriate use of tools to track and monitor the financial performance of assigned projects


• Define and consults on measurement strategies, tools, scorecards and surveys.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required


• Foundational knowledge of Agile methodology is strongly preferred.


• • 8 years or more of program/project management work experience in related field including process management. Project Management certification preferred (i.e. PMI - PMP, CAPM, etc).


• Experience in change management evaluation, planning and execution. ADKAR experience helpful.


• Prior experience managing program, projects within Health Insurance in general and Clinical/Affordability areas in particular is desired


• Six Sigma training also valued


• • Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects.


• Proven results of building and creating new structures through the use of creativity and innovation management.


• Experience, ability and willingness to share knowledge and coach individuals with varying levels of experience.


• Detail oriented, with proven time management and organization skills (including the ability to engage in multiple tasks and meet deadlines/standards).


• Ability to deal with ambiguity, embracing change and helping others see it as an opportunity and stay focused on goals while adapting to change.


• Comfortable with raising questions, issues, ideas or suggestions to co-workers at all levels across all organizations.


• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written and training, along with excellent presentation skills.


• Ability to work in a matrix environment.


• Works well with larger groups from a wider range of organizations, as well as reporting out to senior executives.


• Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools (including MS Project).


• Some travel may be required (Up to 15%) to Nashville

Location:

• Position is fully remote anywhere in the United States


• Must be available to work in Eastern or Central time zone

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 95,100 - 158,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
