This position is for a Medi-Cal Data Warehouse project for State of California in Sacramento.
The Senior ETL Developer position is for the ETL Operations Team which is primarily responsible for the periodic data releases from multiple source feeds, change requests, production maintenance, operations, data quality, system changes and fixes.

Expert hands-on development experience in required skills.
Top Requirements:
1. Strong ETL experience using IBM Datastage V7 or higher - 5+ years
Strong knowledge on Teradata architecture and loading utilities like TPT, TEQ, FLOAD and MLOAD - 2+ years 3. Strong SQL writing ability and data analysis skills - 2+ years
Team and Team size:
ETL Team has 6 ETL developers (DataStage, Teradata, SQL programming), 1 BusinessObjects (BusinessObjects) and Data Dictionary Librarian (Erwin, SAS) developer/analyst, 2 QA testers, 6 Source Data Feeds developers (Mainframe Cobol, SQL), 1 ETL Lead(DataStage, Teradata, SQL programming), 1 Manager.
Top Responsibilities:
Responsible for analysis of source systems to determine required transformations.
Writes the design and mapping specifications for ETL development.
Identifies methods of improving performance in ETL design and development.
Analyses customer requirements, improving performance on existing scripts /process/procedures, and document detailed user requirements and program functions.
Monitors database performance, support application users, determine cost of database changes, and train team members on applications.
Coordinates the work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs and establish physical database parameters.
Skills/attributes Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information technology (or related fields) from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
Strong ETL experience 5-6 years using IBM Datastage V7 or higher
Strong knowledge on Teradata architecture and loading utilities like TPT, TEQ, FLOAD and MLOAD
Strong SQL writing ability and data analysis skills
Unix commands and shell scripting
Good understanding of IT fundamentals, architecture, and the system development life cycle.
Ability to reason logically and creatively and use a variety of analytical and research techniques to solve complex problems.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types
Skills/attributes Preferred
Knowledge of 837 and NCPDP HIPAA Transactions
Experience using Erwin to design data models
Knowledge of Healthcare with Medicaid or Public Health data
Experience using XML with DataStage
Experience reading, understanding and importing COBOL copybooks into InfoSphere DataStage
Experience using QualityStage
