INTRODUCTION

Wintrust Business Credit (WBC), an Asset Based Lending (ABL) organization within Wintrust Financial Corporation with assets of above $50 billion, seeks a Vice President (VP) or Senior Vice President (SVP) for New Business Development. Wintrust Business Credit provides highly sophisticated financial products to leverage and cyclical commercial enterprises throughout the United States across a wide range of industries.  This individual will have responsibility for the generation of new business opportunities across an assigned geographic territory. This position will report the WBC national sales manager and will work closely with the existing WBC management, credit, operations, and underwriting teams.

VP/ SVP Business Development

WBC is a market leading provider of ABL and AR financing solutions, WBC has previously concentrated its new business efforts in the Chicago, Milwaukee, and Northwest Indiana markets.  The WBC team is embarking on a national expansion plan to grow its business around the country.  The team will be hiring business development professionals, in multiple markets, to support this plan.  These individuals should have a proven track record of originating, and closing ABL and/ or C&I transactions for middle market clients with annual revenues from $20MM to $500MM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Generate new Middle Market ABL Business opportunity’s across assigned geographic territory

  • Responsible for annual goals tied to loan volume

  • Maintain and build professional network of COI’s and referral sources

  • Maintain a network of prospective customers with a consistent approach to calling

  • Develop local/ regional marketing strategy

  • Proven skill and experience with all aspects of loan production from lead generation, loan structuring, credit discussions, and underwriting

  • Negotiate proper loan structure and effectively cross sell products

  • Work with, and assist, the WBC Portfolio and underwriting team preparing pre-screen memo’s, final credit write-up’s, and presenting transactions to credit for final approval.

  • Establish pre-close diligence schedule in coordination with WBC team   

  • Assist WBC portfolio team with maintaining client relationships post close

  • Attend local and regional networking events to promote WBC brand to COI’s and prospective clients   

QUALIFICATIONS


  • 8+ years of commercial lending experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Strong analytical skills, organizational and time management skills.  Proven ability to manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner

  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment with an emphasis on relationship building

  • Proven track record of generating new middle market ABL and/ or C&I client relationships

  • History of successfully closing large ticket transactions from $10MM to $100MM

  • Ability to understand and interpret the principles of accounting, credit and finance

  • Knowledge of current market and economic conditions

  • Ability and willingness to periodically travel to other markets deemed to be strategically important to WBC in an effort to develop new relationships for the group

  • Confident self-starter with the ability to manage multiple transactions

  • Proficient using Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

  • High ethical standards and personal integrity
