Position Summary:

The Admitting Representative Per Diem is responsible for conducting interviews with patients representing the medical center's admission and financial policies; obtains demographic and third party payer information necessary for admission and billing of patient accounts; compiles, verifies, analyzes, and distributes demographic, insurance, and financial information to be used by various hospital departments to assure proper compliance and prompt service to patients; assures verified data will provide accurate billing of charges and timely collection of accounts; supports hospital and departmental goals in a manner that will enhance the successful operation of the hospital and create a positive image to the public. This Admitting Representative PD position is in the (Admitting Section) Admitting section of the Admitting Department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center/Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach.Minimum Requirements:

• Previous experience in a hospital admitting setting or Patient Financial Services.
  


• Knowledge of medical insurance.
  


• Knowledge of medical terminology.
  


• Minimum typing/keyboard skills of 35 words per minute is required.
  


• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
  


• Must be able to work all shifts.
  


• Bilingual preferred.
  


• For internal employees, must not have any type of counseling within the last 6 months.
