Inventory Control Supervisor - 2nd Shift at United Natural Foods Inc in Joliet, Illinois

Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for supervising the inventory control functions of all outgoing/incoming products from the warehouse. Leads and controls activities of company warehouse personnel.  Front line supervision is an extremely important function for the company, positive interaction with the employees is critical as this ensures getting work out on time, efficiently, and accurately.   Ensures storage, and inventory control are performed in an efficient manner. Take precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports.  Conducts Warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures and policies and keeps management informed of Warehouse activities.  Completes miscellaneous support functions and supports area personnel as required.

SALARY: $63,000-$65,000 starting, based on experience

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 6:00PM-2:30AM

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy.

  • Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems.

  • Administers inventory control procedures.

  • Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts.

  • Training of the inventory team.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Works closely with Special Projects Manager on inventory related projects such as RF, Product Layout and other duties as assigned.

  • Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

QUALIFICATIONS

Education


  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience and training.

Knowledge


  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Good working knowledge of inventory control practices and materials management.

  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures and policies.

  • Understanding of required computer applications.

  • Excellent leadership abilities.

  • Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications.

Experience


  • Capability of being licensed in operating powered industrial equipment.(Reach Truck, Double Scooter)

Skills/Abilities


  • Excellent leadership abilities.

  • Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications.

  • Must be highly organized, able to multi-task, prioritize and possess strong time management skills.
