About the HR Generalist Job
The HR Generalist works closely with all levels of employees, management and outside community organizations at the facility. They consult with management on personnel policy implementation and advise employees on subjects such as disciplinary action, performance problems, and provide other general support as well.
Job Duties include:
Provide interpretation and guidance regarding company policy and procedures
Provide recruiting and training for employee development and talent up opportunities
Conduct new employee orientation
Track attendance for temporary employees and work hours toward conversion
Counsel employees concerning work related problems
Provide managers with suggestions and recommendations to address employee issues
Benchmark best practices to support company key performance goals and objectives
Participate in the employee relations process
Conduct on boarding, employee training and implementing new programs as needed for their shift customers
Coordinate the implementation and administration of services, policies, procedures and programs as directed by Director, Human Resources
Assist with weekly payroll
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources-related field or equivalent work experience.
3 - 4 years of HR generalist experience
Experience in compensation, EEO and mandated and voluntary leaves (FMLA, ADA),
General knowledge of HR core competencies including employment and employment law, employee relations, benefits, safety, workers compensation, legal compliance.
PHR Certification a plus.
HR experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Familiarity with payroll, specifically Kronos
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and be flexible in a constantly changing work environment
Ability to work effectively with all levels within and external to the organization
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of a 24/7 operation.
