Job Description:

Boise Cascade BMD seeks to hire a Division Commodity Trader.  This is an exciting new position and new concept that will trade commodity building materials directly with existing and new customers in various channels to include, national pro dealers, home centers, large independent and regional dealers and industrial accounts.  This position will be part of the BMD Commodity Procurement team.  The right candidate will need to use advanced team building skills to develop relationships both internally and externally in order to successfully execute a strategy to grow direct sales.

Responsibilities



  • Collaborates with branch personnel (Manager, Sales Manager, Assistant Manager, Product Manager and occasionally Outside Sales) to identify accounts for deeper direct commodity penetration – primarily panels.  In addition, works with branch personnel to develop strategies to sell customers.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with division product management on a daily basis to ensure coordinated approach with suppliers

  • Collaborates with division national accounts personnel to develop coordinated approach with accounts that require an inside  central point of contact

  • Takes positions in the market  as conditions warrant for direct sell to assigned customers.

  • Develops relationships with key customers as part of strategy to significantly increase direct sales for the division.

  • Responsible for marketing, quoting, pricing, sales to assigned customers & regions national accounts, pro-oriented retailer, large DIY retail operations, industrial or a combination of these accounts.

  • Acts as back up for primary division product manager when needed.


Preferred Job Requirements:  Advanced degree or undergraduate in related field with minimum of 10 years of management level sales and marketing experience in building materials industry.
