Position Overview:

The job profile for this position is an IT Project Management Senior Manager, which is a Band 4 Senior Contributor Career Track Role.

The Health Information Systems IT Project Management Senior Manager is responsible for managing a team of project managers for the delivery and execution of multiple disciplines within IT Project and Agile Management. Leads and collaborates with HIS Project Management Office on enhancements to project management processes and tools. Supports the management of the Care Delivery Health Information Systems portfolio spanning multiple lines of business (LOBs) alongside the HIS IT Program Director. Oversees integration of projects and communicates any need to adjust project scope, timing, capacity and budgets to align with the needs of the business. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers, Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manages and provides leadership, career development, and mentoring for a team comprised of Project Managers.

  • Establishes and communicates common goals and direction for team; delegates and prioritizes work to ensure effective execution of all team deliverable.

  • Ensure adherence to consistent project management and agile processes, best practices, and standards.

  • Leverages relationships, business acumen and technical expertise to drive outcomes that are aligned with the Health Information Systems technology roadmap.

  • Attract, recruit, manage, develop, and retain talented team members. This includes both hiring and growing employees as well as effective use of consultants or vendor partnerships.

  • Act as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.

Required Experience / Qualifications:


  • PMP certification is highly preferred

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related degrees; advanced degree such as an MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of technology and business/industry experience preferred, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role with responsibility for the delivery of large-scale projects or programs.

  • Healthcare background with an emphasis in health system technology and Epic or other EHRs preferred.

  • Practical experience in Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices and principles.

  • Deep people and matrix management skills, with a heavy emphasis on coaching and mentoring of less senior staff and resolving conflicts.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.

  • Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.

  • Extensive change and release management experience.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 124,600 - 207,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
