Forklift Operator- 1st Shift at G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. in Maysville, Kentucky

Job Description:

Forklift Operators serve our internal customers by ensuring all production materials (e.g. raw materials, finished goods) are transported, loaded, unloaded and stored accurately and safely according to established company standards to ensure that production demands and warehouse needs are met.

Job Duties:

• Transports raw materials (e.g. cans, bottles, lids, empty shells and pallets) from the

designated storage area to the production line according to established standards (e.g.

materials being transported and delivered safely) to ensure that our production demands are

met.

• Moves pallets of finished goods from production line to warehouse and organizes products

(e.g. full goods) in the warehouse to facilitate storage and replenishment for the loading shifts

according to established company standards (e.g. product being stored safely, product being

rotated).

• Inspects finished product; adds identifying labels to each skid, ensuring that label codes

match date codes on the product.

• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety

requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local Laws); wears all required personal

protective equipment.

• Communicates with co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the

status of work activities (e.g. production process) and other information; supervisor with

questions or issues with daily assignments; works with Production and Warehouse

Management Team to resolve problems.

• Completes time-off requests, equipment safety checklists, production logs and other required

paperwork according to established standards.

• Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as

needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

• Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the production floor and warehouse

(e.g. gathers damaged materials, bands waste materials together and stores in designated

areas, cleans up spills).

• Accurately counts all full good and raw materials during our annual inventory process.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

• Experience: 6-12 months forklift experience in a production and/or warehouse environment;

previous food/beverage production/warehouse experience strongly preferred.

• Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds manually

• Other Requirements: Knowledge of: warehouse/food distribution environment; beverage

industry. Skill in: internal customer service. Ability to: work independently, quickly and

efficiently; multi-task; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working

relationships; adapt to change; obtain a forklift license; operate a forklift, labeler, electric

bander and other mechanical equipment; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g.

addition, subtraction). Other functions, skills and abilities may also apply.
