Job Description:

Checkers serve our internal and external customers by ensuring pallets of product to be delivered to our Express and Tel-Sell customers are built and trailers are loaded quickly, safely, and accurately.

• Audits incoming trucks to ensure ending truck inventory (e.g. product, empty shells) is accurate based on daily sales and beginning truck inventory; works with appropriate personnel to correct inventory issues and makes necessary adjustments as needed according to established company policy

• Receives and verifies incoming raw materials and incoming and outgoing full goods; ensures incoming materials and products are in good condition (e.g. no damaged goods, no out of date and/or leaking products).

• Ensures that counts on all incoming and outgoing products match paperwork (e.g. proper quantity and flavor of product is received/shipped according to load sheets and receivers).

• Ensures that the correct trailer is loaded with the correct product according to established company standards; verifies trailer numbers with trailer assignment boards.

• Assists with fiscal year-end inventory process; accurately counts raw materials and full goods according to established standards.

• Communicates with: co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities (e.g. shipping and receiving process) and other information; supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignments.

• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. safety and OSHA requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local Laws); wears all required personal protective equipment.

• Completes equipment stock status reports, shippers and receivers, time-off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.

• Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

• Performs job duties of Warehouse Administrative Assistant to provide coverage from absences from work (e.g. paid time off, illness).

• Builds pallets of product accurately by identifying proper location and quantity of product requested on build sheets; stacks products according to established standards to ensure stability and safety of pallets; wraps pallets securely either by hand or machine.

• Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the warehouse (e.g. cuts away shrink wrap from pallets, gathers damaged materials, cleans up spills, cleans trash from trailers). Sorts consolidates and disposes of breakage, OOD, and returned product.

Education: High School degree, GED or equivalent. 1-3 years previous inventory experience; previous food/beverage warehouse inventory experience strongly preferred.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of: warehouse/food distribution environment; beverage industry. Skill in: internal customer service. Ability to: read load sheets and receivers; count accurately; work quickly, independently and efficiently; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; operate a forklift, pallet jack, wrapper and other mechanical equipment; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g. addition, subtraction).
