Best Buy seeks a Lead Business Systems Analyst - Corporate Systems. The Corporate Systems team plays a critical role in enhancing tax applications and processes to ensure compliance and the ability to scale with the constantly changing tax landscape within the retail industry.

About the Team:
The Corporate Systems team is a cross-functional team comprised of extremely talented individuals who contribute to all aspects of software configuration, custom development, and delivery enabling enterprise initiatives, compliance, and business process optimization. We are a collaborative development team that leverages a variety of custom and packaged software solutions with many industry-leading technologies and tools to ensure we can be able to perform at scale. We are highly collaborative and are committed to agility, code simplicity, and consistent high quality. This team consists of onshore and offshore personnel.

As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you will be working to enhance and modernize technology and platforms within the Tax and Finance areas. You can quickly solve problems and leverage your skills and resources to resolve issues quickly and gain expertise within a critical domain area

You must be able to take high-level concepts from an idea to an actionable plan while weighing trade-offs with work in flight. Leveraging best practices and working with team members, you will work on initiatives and upcoming projects to enhance the absence and leave process. You will be working in an agile team, developing solutions to solve problems and streamline processes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Partner with cross-functional business teams to identify business requirements and high-level solution options and opportunities

  • Effectively partner with teams such as Tax and Finance Teams to provide support for requests such as enhancements, defects, and new functionality

  • Define and build out user stories to deliver solutions per the business needs

  • Create and facilitate reviews for functional and technical designs and maintain product documentation ongoing

  • Complete functional and technical configuration for packaged applications

  • Leads definition/delivery of complex solutions; enhances solutions to support business strategies

  • Participate in planning, estimation, and strategic roadmap activities

  • Provide leadership and input on product direction

  • Participate in problem-solving and technical issue reviews at the product level and contribute to architectural and design decisions to avoid or correct them

  • Leads and effectively manages the triage of complex issues across systems in both production and locally

  • Demonstrates creativity takes the initiative in solving complex problems and continuously learning

  • Influence technical peers outside their team in some areas

  • Mentor junior engineers through a variety of strategies

  • Requires minimal direction and/or oversight

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience with Finance and Tax technology ERP platforms such as Oracle EBS, or SAP

  • 3 or more years of experience in technology delivery in one or more areas: design, development, release management, configuration management

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience with Finance and Tax Technology including ERP Platforms and/or ERP Platform integrations

  • 2 or more years of experience working with technical solutioning of Vertex O series

  • Experience implementing application full lifecycle initiatives (Custom, Packaged, and/or SaaS applications)

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with and knowledge of finance and tax-related systems, processes, terminology, and compliance goals

  • Relevant engineering experience such as software development; critical reasoning skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; experience delivering quality engineering outcomes

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills, especially when working with a distributed team
