Job Description:

B&W is looking for an engineer to support its Diamond Electronics camera systems. This position will be a key contributor to the design, development, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our industrial camera systems product line and associated electro-mechanical systems and controls.

This position will be responsible for:


  • System design and component selection for new equipment and features as well as component obsolescence.
  • Assist with generating proposals, new order review/writeup, and developing customer specific drawings
  • Troubleshooting field and production issue related to the product line
  • Key contributor to the related camera system software development and testing.
  • Developing and delivering technical training to internal team members and external customers

Skills:

  • Knowledge in visible and Infrared optics design - Lenses, Filters, etc.
  • Knowledge of the visible, near-infrared (NIR), mid-infrared (MWIR), and long wave-infrared (LWIR) spectrums.
  • Knowledge of Singlemode and Multimode fiber optic technology and equipment
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital video components and design
  • Knowledge of networking of IP camera systems
  • Mechanical and Electrical design experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of CSA Certification in support of the product line is a plus

This position requires you to travel up to 10-20% of the time. Working both independently and in a team environment within B&W and at customer sites.The qualities we're looking for are:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physics with knowledge of Optics and Imaging Science, preferred.
  • A highly motivated, self- directed, team oriented, and trustworthy person.
  • Ability to lead hands-on: design, development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all members of a project team.
  • Ability to accept technical direction and coaching from senior engineers and managers.
  • Excellent computer skills, analytical abilities, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer relationship skills.
  • Experience in Power, Paper, Steel, Glass, and Cement industries is a plus.
  • AutoCAD and controls experience a plus.
