OVERVIEW: 


The Corporate Partnership Manger is responsible for managing key elements of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ effort to secure significant financial resources from corporations in the greater Indianapolis community, as well as top family brands throughout the United States.  The incumbent consistently engages in cultivating and sustaining relationships with current and prospective corporate partners at a variety of giving levels and works closely with staff colleagues to assure seamless sponsorship and benefits fulfillment for assigned donors.  The Manager maintains and expands upon business partnership support.  They work with members of the Development team to meet or exceed the fund-raising goals that support the achievement of the museum’s mission and strategic plan.

REPORTS TO:  Director of Corporate Development


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Identifies, cultivates, and sustains strong relationships with a diversity of corporate donors and sponsors to meet annual targets. Personally and actively participates in development and sponsorship efforts.

  2. Works closely with the Director of Corporate Development to analyze specific targets for corporate funding at the appropriate level by gathering detailed information on current and prospective corporations. Develops, vets, and shares a comprehensive portfolio of museum projects available for corporate sponsorship.

  3. Creates action plans for solicitation for each identified target, including clear cultivation analysis for the proposed donor. This solicitation work will include extensive work in the museum’s CRM software platform and critical thinking to engage colleagues from across departments.

  4. Works closely with key division colleagues and internal staff to communicate the terms of agreement for corporate sponsorships at the appropriate level and to ensure that sponsors’ expectations are met and exceeded.

  5. Collaborates with Museum colleagues to ensure philanthropy is maximized when securing new partnerships.

  6. In concert with department colleague responsible for fulfillment coordination, ensures that sponsorship or gift agreements, including specific marketing and public relations commitments, are adhered to at all times. Responsible for on-going communication and cooperation both internally and externally.

  7. Presents corporate prospects with a variety of available museum partnership opportunities and prepares necessary written presentation materials or presentations to be utilized in securing financial support.

  8. Ensures that all donor information is maintained with respect to confidentiality. Ensures that critical information is available and communicated to appropriate individuals.

  9. Assists in the development and distribution of fundraising collateral materials.

  10. Continues personal professional growth through participation in community organizations, philanthropic associations, and professional conferences.

  11. Helps plan and facilitate annual Power of Partnership Summit and other Development fundraising and stewardship events.


REQUIREMENTS:



  1. One (1) year of relevant sales experience in for profit sponsorship or non-profit fundraising; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  2. Proven experience managing strategic relationships with a professional demeanor and partner-focused approach.

  3. Demonstrated experience with group and public presentations.

  4. Intelligent and articulate individual, who can relate in a collegial manner with diverse individuals from across the community and museum.

  5. Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.

  6. Evidence of ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  7. Mature individual with appreciation and respect for the confidentiality of highly personal information.

  8. Proficiency and ability to learn and utilize various types of computer based software (Raiser’s Edge, Excel, Word)

  9. Driven, outgoing self-starter who can work with minimal oversight and achieve team goals on a consistent basis.


ADA REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to review detailed proposals/written communications/agreements and view computer monitor; must be able to perceive space.

  2. The ability to communicate extensively via telephone, email, one-on-one conversation and with a group.

  3. Must be able to engage in heavy keyboard use and process large volumes of paperwork.

  4. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and negotiate local travel via traditional modes of transportation; must be able tolerate dust in the indoor work in environment.
