Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Director, Global Safety CES & Emergency Response will ensure a high level of Governance and operating compliance in CES Safety and emergency planning, in close partnership with Global COE, RBU CES and SHEQ teams globally, supporting our strategic vision of "not harming people" by means of 'zero' incidents. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Improve CES Safety Performance & Compliance - Work closely with RBU's CES, Linde Engineering (LE), Global COE and other business entities within the Linde Group on annual planning and priorities along with monitoring the implementation of Linde standards and local requirements in CES installations - Assist RBU's with Safety reviews on "Step out projects" - Work closely with Global AT teams as needed during commercialization of new technologies Emergency Planning & Response - Develop, implement, and maintain a global emergency response database. - Coordinate and support emergency response tasks with BU's as needed. - Manage the Linde global emergency response standards and Everbridge system. - Review the Everbridge system for all ME's, FPE's and ensure the close out of the same. - Continually assess and ensure that BU's have emergency response capabilities to support their businesses. - Develop, lead, and maintain a global emergency response CoP with Linde regions and businesses. - Collaborate with BU's to monitor, interpret, and influence appropriate global regulation and industry standards in emergency response and its implementation. - Liaison with Global Risk Management Group and provide updates. - Monitor the external organization ER capabilities in certain regions for collaboration in the ER area. Organizational Support - Support the development of safety standards and guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure appropriate management of employees and contractors for both CES and ER areas. - Ensure incidents are investigated consistently and in line with Linde processes and expectations. - Provide recommendations for program improvements. - Develop minimum training materials by collaborating with BU and COE teams for both the areas. - Lead Quarterly calls with all the segments / BU's / Functions to share incidents, learnings and best practices - Collaborate with RBU and Business teams to improve Contractor Management practices and assist the teams with key recommendations. - Participate in the RBU and Business unit audits and recommend improvements. - Prepare Monthly reports and presentation material as required in conjunction with RBU teams and/ or other Group business where appropriate. - Prepare and communicate directives and alerts based on learnings. - Participate in Trade and Industry working groups as required Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline. - 12+ years' experience in engineering or operational roles. - Ability to travel up to 40% plus of the time (domestic and international). - Strong ability to execute and manage projects and processes. - Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to get business commitments and sign of from senior leaders. - Ability to work with global teams , cross cultures and promote & require collaboration. - Broad working knowledge of CES engineering, execution or operations. - Knowledge of key performance metrics. - Experience in incident investigations. - Experience on emergency response teams and incident command. - Understanding of hazardous materials characteristics and handling. - Demonstrated experience in working with remote groups. Preferred Qualifications: - 7+ years of general management experience in an operational role. - Post- graduate executive programs are a plus, e.g.: HSE, MBA, behavioural safety, compliance, Linde University.
