Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads the Turlock site environmental, health & safety, and security programs to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Ensures site policies and procedures continually meet EPA or OSHA regulations; designs, evaluates/re-evaluates the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis.
Updates the Site Leadership Team on changes to regulations and corporate policies.
Facilitates on-site regulatory agency inspections and provides post inspection response activities under the direction of legal and Corporate EHS.
Drives EHS incident reporting and correction in alignment with corporate policies.
Engages in and leads site EHS inspections and ensures proper corrective and preventative actions are completely in a timely manner.
Facilities Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) activities as required to ensuring proper root cause analysis and incident correction occurs to prevent re-occurance and communicates findings through corporate safety alerts.
Manages the Contractor Safety Management program at the site level ensuring contractor compliance with corporate policy.
Works with Corporate Health & Safety to manages occupational injuries/illnesses and assists in workplace accommodations when appropriate.
Develops a strong safety culture at by leading and engaging with the site leadership, safety culture teams and team members on safety culture programs and initiatives.
Works to develop and track leading EHS indicators to drive continuous improvement.
Serves as the site EHS subject matter expert and works collaboratively with site functions including operations, maintenance, engineering, human resources and finance to accomplish site goals.
Partners with Corporate EHS teams to ensure corporate environmental, health and safety goals and objectives are met.
Manages risk assessments and risk control activities.
Strategically influences to ensure management commitment and employee ownership of EHS programs.
Identifies and pursues continuous improvement of all EHS and security programs and initiatives.
Leads the site security team ensuring systems and execution of life safety systems, emergency preparedness protocols, site emergency response team, and overall campus grounds and buildings are monitored and protected.
Coordinates and partners with occupational health and safety services provided to BDG by third party administrator (ATI).
Plans, develops, and evaluates methods and processes for gathering, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data. Communicates trends and advises action plans to meet regulatory requirements for EHS and security protection to enhance performance.
Plans and implements health & safety, security strategies in conjunction with Corporate EHS Teams and Site Director.
Manages the department budget to optimize the services provided.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of Environmental, Health and Safety management experience.
Proficient computer skills - MS Office
Analyze, interpret and present data to varying audiences inside and outside of the organization
Firm understanding of Federal OSHA and Cal/OSHA (Title 8) regulations
Must have good organizational skills and be able to prioritize workload, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and maintain high quality of work
Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally resulting in a safe work environment at all levels of the plant
Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree
14 or more years
Must be able to work any shift based on operational needs. This role will be primarily on day shift with the expectation that coverage occurs on other shifts as needed, and on call as needed for emergency situations.

VPP program experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to physically move throughout the facility, including climbing multiple flights of stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and tight access areas. Able to sit/work at a desk for extended periods of time doing things such as analytical work or reports, which requires focus, while utilizing a computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in a plant environment being exposed to dust, high noise levels, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations, fumes and odors from welding and other maintenance processes, poor lighting, and wet operation work conditions. Typical conditions may include prolonged sitting, standing and walking.
Travel among the BDG manufacturing sites located throughout the California Central Valley.
Some travel to TPAs and Vendors may be required
