Job Description:

The Spiritual Life Chaplain is a part-time, academic-year position, reporting to the Director of Spiritual Life. The Chaplain assumes overall responsibility to facilitate student faith and practice of their respective faith community at Choate Rosemary Hall and assists the Director of Spiritual Life in the implementation of school-wide and departmental policies.

Duties include:
Develop a comprehensive program for students Provide worship leadership for the students in your faith community Offer spiritual counseling as requested by individual students Field calls and emails from student parents in your tradition Meet weekly with student Spiritual Life Organization according to an agreed upon schedule Meet individually, as requested, with the Director of Spiritual Life and together as a Spiritual Life team of colleague chaplains, at least 1x/trimester Assist in ecumenical/multifaith programs including days of service, holy day celebrations, Baccalaureate, Alumni Memorial Service, multifaith conversations, Work with students outside your tradition who are seeking to learn more about your faith community and tradition (including students in Religious Studies classes, ) Serve as a member of Choates Spiritual Life Team that seeks to support the entire Choate community and provide opportunities for meaning-making, moral development, spiritual exploration and education, and religious growth and observance Chaplains should anticipate around 10 hours weekly commitment: ~5 hours of scheduled meetings with students, worship, gatherings, leadership meetings, transportation, meals, campus-presence, etc., and ~5 hours non-scheduled for planning, communications, programming,

Other duties as assigned by the Head of School, Dean of Equity and Inclusion, and Director of Spiritual Life.
