Senior Finance Analyst – Hybrid at Best Buy in Richfield, Minnesota

This role is hybrid, which means you must be located within a drivable distance to our Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, MN. You might be asked to come into the office up to 3 days per week.

Best Buy is the world’s largest multi-channel consumer electronics retailer with stores in the US and Canada. We are currently seeking Senior Financial Analysts to provide analytical support and thought leadership to help the organization make sound decisions as we execute on our growth strategy. The focus of the Senior Financial Analyst will be on evaluating new business initiatives and driving financial performance through effective planning, analysis, and performance management. These highly collaborative and cross functional roles provide ample opportunity to have a meaningful impact on Best Buy’s growing business.

As a Sr. Finance Analyst, you will act as a subject matter expert within your specific capability of One Finance. Examples of capabilities you will support include Category Merchants, Sales Channels, Services, Supply Chain, Capital Planning and Enterprise FP&A. Over time, Sr. Finance Analysts have an opportunity to change the area that they support in order to continue to learn and grow your skillsets.

This role requires business savviness with the ability to build and utilize complex financial models. Sr. Finance Analysts influence decision making that impacts customers, employees, and the bottom line. You will have the ability to work with many cross-functional partners in this collaborative work environment to integrate in the overall strategy of the capability you support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with key functional areas to understand business finance concepts: revenue and earnings performance, enterprise operating income, SG&A and market share, international operating income, SG&A and revenue growth


• Support our financial rhythms including monthly forecasts, month-end variance analysis, management reporting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning


• Deliver clear, insightful analysis and recommendations within business scenarios and actively participate in identifying opportunities and collaborating to identify solutions


• Identify and communicate business risks and opportunities to leadership while working to formulate initial action plans that mitigate risks and/or maximize opportunities


• Prepare financial reporting & presentations that break down problems into critical components and drive actionable insights


• Cultivate finance/business relationships, which include learning the business, responding to evolving priorities and understanding the impacts of decisions on key stakeholders


• Deliver in-depth modeling and analysis that supports transformational efforts and strategic growth opportunities


• Influence peers and business partners on operational or execution issues


• Apply judgment within general parameters and guiding principles, less reliance on defined or prescribed guidelines, policies, procedures, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1.5 or more years of work experience in a Finance or Accounting capacity


• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

• 5 or more years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field


• Demonstration of leadership and adept critical thinking skills


• Ability to thrive in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment


• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills


• High level of ethics, integrity, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality


• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion without explicit direction or detailed instructions


• Advanced Excel skills


• MBA or CPA
