Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Medical Secretary III - Endocrinology for our Wilmington DE location.

Primary Function -

  • This position is responsible for coordinating all front office operations related to appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and ensuring appropriate communication within the office as well as with a variety of external contacts including physicians, patients, staff, insurance companies, etc. This individual is responsible for ensuring that all office functions are completed effectively and efficiently, with an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and a positive team environment.
  • Essential Functions -

  • Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
  • Assist in selection, orientation, direction, and evaluation of clerical staff
  • Complete prior authorizations related to medications and durable medical equipment.
  • Assist with the completion of template changes in EPIC.
  • Coordinate and maintain staff and provider schedules. Monitor accruals, overtime, and scheduled/unscheduled time off
  • Performs all secretarial and PSR functions. Hands-on knowledge of registration, check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification/authorization processes, payment collection, daily cash reconcilliation, and deposit
  • Handles phone calls to/from patients, physician offices, insurance companies, internal customers, etc. utilizing proper telephone etiquette
  • Monitor master patient schedules for providers and ensure that schedule changes are processed accurately and expediently with minimal impact to patients
  • Assist in the coordination and management of training programs and educational visitors within the division
  • Provide direct support to Program Directors, obtaining and overseeing all necessary documentation for continual rotation into the program
  • Maintain department records as defined and ensure that all departmental supplies needed for efficient operation and the provision of care are maintained and ordered in a timely fashion
  • Job Requirements:


    • High School Diploma required
    • Associate's degree preferred
    • At least 3 years of experience in support role required.
    • Excellent computer, power point and excel skills
    • Excellent customer service, time management and organizational skills.
