JOB SUMMARY

The Head Houseman will support the banquet departments with the cleaning, set-up and breakdown expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in pre-shift meetings with management and housemen to determine responsibilities for the current day/shift.
• Determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc.
• Ensures each room set-up is accurate and meets the clients' specifications. .
• Reads and interprets Banquet Event Orders to ensure proper room set up.
• Complete final breakdown of function by cleaning, maintaining the banquet rooms and other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Often asked to transport food, assist the dishwasher and plate for banquet events.
• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and general appearance of all storage space, furniture and equipment.
• Anticipates and responds to guests in a friendly, positive and timely manner.
• Actively contributes to the efforts of other departments when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must have the ability to read and communicate in English.
• Prefer one or more years of previous experience in a house person or banquet house person role.
• Must have demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting and noise levels.
