Associate Engineer Pilot Plant Chocolate Technology - Elizabethtown, PA
An Associate Pilot Plant Engineer Chocolate Technology is responsible for the development, design, implementation, and validation of new manufacturing processes and equipment for Mars Wrigley (MW) business globally.
In addition, the successful candidate will dedicate 50% of the time for facilities management in Elizabethtown Global R&D pilot plant, including safety, food safety plans, QMP and modernization of its capabilities (including digitalization).
What are we looking for?
Given an objective, initiate test plan development, experimental setup, test execution and data analysis to quantify key process parameters and fundamental mechanisms at both pilot and factory scale using our Mars signature stage gate processes.
Develop an experimental plan and execute testing and trials to identify key process equipment parameters and fundamental mechanisms at prototype, pilot and factory scale. Create process specifications, centerlines, and operation standards for production based on trials and data analysis.
Ensure the team delivers the highest possible level of safety standards, Quality Management Program compliance, and culture through individual training and actions, a focus on safety via project teams and active participation on safety teams and committees.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships between internal (cross functional and across regions) and external (suppliers and trade groups) partners in different geographic locations.
Document and maintain food safety plans and safety program in the pilot plant.

Ability to clearly communicate and present the results and conclusions. Generate a technical report of their findings. Assist in the translation of technology ideas into visual, physical models, working prototypes, and end-to-end business solutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cross-functional team.
Project management meeting budget and timing for equipment installation up to $0.25M from bench top to pilot plant following Mars processes from project submission through commissioning.
Develop and maintain pilot plant safety and food safety standards, while facilitating a safe and efficient operation.
Candidate ideally with PCQI training to maintain FSMA requirements in the pilot plant activities.
