Traditional, Roth and Education IRAs, as well as Health Savings Accounts; possess ability to explain plan comparisons and benefits of each.
Plan establishment requirements required documentation for each plan type and incorporate requirements of subsequent amendments.
Eligibility requirements – the differences of each plan type.
Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and efficiencies to maximize an automated process.
Handle all rollover and transfers, both incoming and outgoing, and maintain knowledge of methods of moving assets and handling employer plan payouts.
Maintain working knowledge of distributions, tax considerations, required payouts and beneficiary options, withholding compliance requirements, penalties, penalty exceptions, and reporting requirements.
Responsible to quality control all transactions and new account/plan openings – match transactions to paperwork, verify codes, follow-up with staff, conduct follow-up training sessions when necessary.
Process death distributions – requires beneficiary contact, letters and forms, research to determine beneficiary options for distribution depending upon the age of the IRA holder at death and whether beneficiary is spouse or non-spouse.
Handle IRA 59 ½ distribution set-up; age 72 required minimum distributions first time set-ups, subsequent year recalculation vs. no-recalculation.
Stay current on IRA and HSA rules and regulations by reading monthly bulletins and any related newsletters, articles, etc., attend seminars, and ensure that the Credit Union remains in compliance. Update IRA documentation given to members as new laws are enacted as well as update reference manuals.
Responsible for reviewing samples of yearend IRA reportable data (1099R, 5498, etc.) before forwarding to printing company.
Responsible for reviewing member IRA profiles and issue corrected IRS reporting forms such as 1099R and 5498 when necessary.
Constantly monitoring and following up with other financial institutions on pending IRA transfer requests.
Take appropriate steps to become notary public within 6 months in position, and to maintain license.
Responsible for maintaining IRA member queue in the IRA online system (IRA Direct via Ascensus). This includes periodic review of the queue to download and process online member requests, updating and maintaining interest rates, and updating and maintaining any new products or promotions.
What we need from you:
College degree or minimum of four years financial institution experience and knowledge of IRA products is required.
This individual must be willing to work flexible hours.
Professional appearance coupled with an enthusiastic, assertive personality.
Individual must be highly motivated, computer literate and possess excellent communication skills.
Work From Home Requirements:

Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
