Reporting to the Director of Laboratory, the Hospital CLS Microbiology Assistant Manager will collaborate with the experienced and knowledgeable CLS team to ensure that the hospital is providing accurate, timely, cost-effective, and efficient testing of all patient specimen samples. This person will also have the opportunity to perform various clinical lab tests to obtain data for future use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Communication is essential in order to refer unresolved issues to the appropriate personnel and in assisting and orienting co-workers and other personnel in the lab policies and procedures.

The Hospital CLS Microbiology Assistant Manager, utilizing their license as a Clinical Microbiologist Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the State of California, performs laboratory analysis of human biological specimens submitted for testing in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards. They will document results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). The Laboratory Assistant Manager will ensure samples are tested and reported within the required turn-around time and be able to prioritize samples appropriately.
