Compliance Liaison at American Career College in Irvine, California

Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Supports and promotes company initiatives and compliance with federal, state and other regulatory standards by providing a wide variety of highly responsible and complex administrative services in accordance with the mission and purpose of the organization.  Responsible for proactive review of the marketing website content to ensure accuracy of the information.  Performs independent remote and in-person audits of the areas identified by the Audit Committee and completes comprehensive reports to be shared with the campus and institutional leadership.  Assists with the regulatory reporting and validates data and exhibits for accuracy within specific regulatory timelines.  Reviews internal and external communications and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Performs compliance assessments remotely and in person on campuses by reviewing the documents and populating the assessment tool utilizing the information gathered. 

  • Completes written audit reports and distributes to the Director and Vice President of Compliance for distribution.

  • Assists campuses with the corrective actions plans and retests the areas under review.

  • Reviews marketing and internal/external communication materials to ensure information is accurate and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Assists with the maintenance of enrollment documents and disclosures to ensure information is accurate and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.   

  • Reviews marketing websites for the accuracy of information and the inclusion of the required disclosures.

  • Completes Veteran Affairs applications for all campuses by the stated deadline. 

  • Serves as the Title IX Administrator for the Administration building or on-as needed basis on the campuses

  • Maintains database and physical copies of documents that demonstrate conformity to state and federal requirements.

  • Assists with the regulatory reporting and validates data and exhibits for accuracy within specific regulatory timelines. 

  • Adheres to College/University policies and procedures and conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College/University’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

  • Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and as required to meet the needs of the College/University and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.

  • Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.

  • Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Associate’s Degree required.          

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:


  • Knows principles, theories, and concepts of the profession through practical experience. Generally 2-3 years of relevant experience with emphasis on auditing protocols required           

  • Experience in Higher Education or highly regulated industry preferred.

  • Ability to self-direct, self-pace, multi-task and function well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.

  • Ability to comprehend and apply multiple sets of regulations to an individual situation.            

  • Ability to understand compliance and regulatory issues in a highly ethnic and culturally diverse student and associate community.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively use interpersonal skills, follows through with duties, and provide attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports
