The Store Planning Supervisor is responsible for a range of duties to meet the needs of new stores, remodeled stores, and other projects throughout the OSJL chain. The Store Planning Supervisor assists in the supervision of projects, ensuring they are completed within time and budgetary constraints. This role will support the Store Planning Assistant Leader in leading a team of Store Planning Associates, occasionally assisting with daily supervisory duties such as training on OSJL policies and procedures. This role has the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment, organize and prioritize multiple objectives, integrate changing processes and procedures, and manage time and resources effectively. The Store Planning Supervisor develops and implements department schedules and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the department with a high level of accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Store Planning Assistant Leader in leading a team of Store Planning Associates as directed, including but not limited to daily supervision, completing daily written plans, and setting goals
Communicate effectively with various departments involved in the projects daily through email, spreadsheets and phone calls
Demonstrate, promote, support, initiate, and enforce compliance with OSJL policies, procedures, standards of ethics and integrity, and federally regulated safety requirements
Set clear performance expectations for the team for each project and regularly provide updates on timeline and priorities, reporting back to leadership as needed
Support leaders in identifying high potential associates to increase capacity for development and succession planning for future opportunities
Lead and supervise associates through the modeling or remodeling of OSJL general market stores including but not limited to loading and unloading trucks, organizing merchandise, stocking shelves, and setting planograms to OSJL standards
Identify the associates, materials, equipment, and resources necessary to complete a project and communicate needs to leadership with attention to budgetary limitations
Inspect, maintain, and track the location of tools and equipment
Maintain a high degree of focus on all details of a job
Evaluate progress and prepare detailed project status reports
Perform risk/benefit analyses to identify the actions that are most beneficial to the project
Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet business needs; work weekly overnight stays required (usually 5 days 4 nights at a time, no more than 6 days at a time)
Including weekend stays, on occasion.
Display product on shelves and on the sales floor up to 12 feet
Operate electric pallet jack and/or scissor lift as needed
Set and operate a ticket gun to effectively price items
Utilize box cutter and related safety equipment
Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds
Ascend and descend ladders up to 20 ft
Ability to use fine motor skills while to operate power tools
Ability to remain stationary for the majority of a shift
Ability to move in a variety of ways needed to transport fixtures and merchandise
Basic knowledge of merchandise fixtures in a retail setting preferred
Prior retail merchandise experience in both Hardlines/Softlines preferred
1 year experience in a supervisor role preferred
Basic understanding or ability to learn blueprints and calculate requirements (size, quantity, dimensions) for the layout and assembling of fixtures
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, auto insurance, and the ability to pass a driving history check and background check
Licensed on various electric pallet jacks, scissor lift and walkie stacker, or be able to obtain such within first 90 days through OSJL-provided training
Proficient in Google suite platform (i.e. sites, slides, drive, docs, sheets)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, or electrical components. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Environment ranges from construction phase of a new store building to an open store updating, remodeling, or helping existing open stores.
