Category Manager - Spray Equipment at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

The Equipment Category Manager at PPG manages our main spray equipment categories for PPG Architectural. This spray equipment is important to our customers' business and sold through hundreds of distribution points across our PPG and Dulux stores network.

The Equipment Category Manager owns their category strategy, assortment, merchandising, execution, pricing, and vendor relationships across North America.

You will report directly to the Product Director-Sundries and will work a hybrid schedule in the Cranberry Twp, PA office.
Key Responsibilities

• Category Management - Maintain performance, technical and market knowledge as the category expert of assigned categories by analyzing sales and profitability information and product information. Make item corrections and make strategic adjustments to deliver financial goals (sales, margin, and inventory).
• Category Review & Merchandising - Manage line reviews of assigned categories which include market analysis, item evaluation, new product needs, assortment planning, merchandising, pricing and cost savings opportunities.
• Collaboration - Partner with vendors and team members (purchasing, finance, supply chain, operations, sales) to prepare and implement assortment, merchandising plans, and promotional programs to increase sales and profitability.
• Analysis - Comprehensive understanding of product portfolio, new products, SWOT analysis, store merchandising and communications. Including comp shops and obtaining MSRP's from vendors where available.
• Field Support - Provide support to field representatives and stores to achieve assigned goals and meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of category management, merchandising, and/or related experience.
• Experience with Paint Spray Equipment a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or another related field.
• Vendor management and negotiation experience.
