The Distribution Center Technician should be capable of performing basic warehouse functions accurately, efficiently, and in a safe manner. Associate should be capable of being cross-trained in all job functions in the warehouse. Job Description
Pick product for orders.
Put away product received into the Distribution Center.
Cycle count the product to insure inventory accuracy.
Flows down product from up-store locations to lower levels for picking.
Processes small package shipments via UPS or Federal Express.
Process LTL and truckload shipments.
Process value added orders.
Process customer returns.
Process export shipments.
Utilizes RF scanning equipment.
Utilizes material-handling equipment.
Display flexibility/versatility to perform the various job functions in the Distribution Center as needed or instructed.
WORKING CONDITIONS and/or PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to effectively work individually or in teams as well as with diverse groups.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
Ability to follow through on assignments.
Problem solving skills and sound judgment.
Ability to understand and apply Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge of proper and safe use of tools, equipment, materials and chemicals.
Maintains an acceptable attendance record, punctuality and meeting deadlines.
Participates in training sessions and seminars.
Maintains an awareness of typical hazards of the workplace as well as the special hazards that may be encountered. Follows procedures for dealing with potential hazards.
Promptly reports accidents on the job.
Willingly participate in the mandatory random drug-testing program.
Successfully complete required safety training sessions that apply to this position and diligently practice safety measures as instructed in training sessions. This may include, but is not limited to such topics as mobile equipment, HazCom, personal protective equipment, emergency operations, bloodborne pathogens, etc.
May be required to work evenings, night or weekend shifts according to the needs of the Company or customer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires good physical condition to work in an industrial site. Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift approximately 50 pounds. Near visual acuity for reading instructions, manuals, specifications, etc.
Must be able to work from a pick and lift truck up to sixteen (16) feet above ground in harness and strap
Ability to cope with numerous interruptions, daily contact with staff.
