Texas Biomed is searching for anAnimal Caretaker - Marmoset Group to join our Veterinary Resources team. The Animal Caretaker works under closesupervision in the performance of most duties, provides for the care oflaboratory animals, their housing and associated facilities, with primaryemphasis placed on maximizing animal welfare and minimizing experimentalvariables relating to animal health and environmental sanitation.

The Role
• Provide daily care for marmoset monkeys, e.g., watering, feeding, dailycleaning of cages, etc.
• Provide all other aspects of primate husbandry, including health checks,recording data and assisting Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in healthcare and assist inenvironmental enrichment program.
• May be required to capture andhandle non-sedated monkeys.

Our Ideal Candidate
• High school diploma or GED required. Prefer one-year specific jobexperience or bachelors degree in related discipline.
• Animal experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver'slicense and meet Texas Biomed driving standards.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
Work involves strenuous physical activities of various kinds withroutine exposure to animals, hazardous substances, potentially dangeroussituations, and unpleasant work conditions (e.g. exposure to unpleasant odorsor adverse weather conditions). The laboratory environment is managed bystringent safety and health standards and with adherence to protocol, the riskis very low.

OTHER:This is a full-time hourly paid position. Employee will normally work7:00am to 4:00pm. Some weekend and holiday work will be required.
