Position Overview

As Manufacturing Supervisor, you will oversee day to day manufacturing operations and personnel to ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met as well as meeting customer production and quality demands while utilizing experience and judgement to plan and accomplish production goals on a timely basis while maintaining a safe working environment

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities


  • Reviews operations schedule to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan production operations.
  • Prepares and manages operational crewing schedules.
  • Assists with collection and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Provides data-driven recommendations aligning with strategic business objectives and company goals.
  • Assists with the development and/or revision of standard operating procedures and working practices while ensuring worker compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure processing and packaging of quality products within required specifications.
  • Reviews operations reports and coordinates with operations, manufacturing, quality, and maintenance to resolve problems, minimize costs, and prevent operational delays.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts to raise manufacturing performance to meet and exceed critical Plant Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost KPI's.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failure and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for sanitation and safety of production area and maintenance of equipment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation SOPs, and the Global Food Safety Initiative.
  • Ensures manufacturing processes are run in accordance with current SOP's, appropriate work instructions and other documentation.
  • Ensures and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Develops, trains, educates, and teaches supervisors and employees packaging and processing duties and functions.
  • Ensures adequate skills inventory of front-line personnel to effectively meet demands of the business.
  • Coaches employees to fulfill and exceed job requirements through a continuous review of targeted achievements and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience OR high school diploma and five years' related experience in consumer products goods manufacturing management

    • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
  • Valid Driver's License or valid federal, state or local ID card
  • Must have or willing to obtain certification from AIB in FSSI or HAACP
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus

  • Plant Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment from production machinery is usually very loud.
