Project Management Principal - Evernorth Health Services - Hybrid at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Job Description:


  • Serves as primary leader for the integration program delivery across Cigna IT and the acquired entities IT organization

  • Define execution plan aligned to Integration Framework

  • Orchestrate execution against plan, collaborate with leadership from the acquired entity. Manage the program as one virtual organization, adjusting at the acquired entity is absorbed into Cigna

  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure business, operational, and IT capabilities are aligned across delivery phases; strong engagement leadership seat at the table at the senior IMO that governs the overall transaction, representing IT

  • Develops the integrated program plan and organization architecture

  • Build and execute staffing plan, usually in the range of 100 - 700 named staff, plus the staff on the acquired entity side

  • Develops the risk mitigation plan, including contingency options.

  • Serves as escalation point of project management items

  • Manage the IT integration budget, usually in the range of $20M- $100M for some transactions

  • Oversees communication and operational readiness key milestones

  • Interfaces and maintains relationships with matrix teams, IT & biz leadership, acquisition partners & external vendors

  • Publishes periodic program/project status reports to program/project leadership

  • Chairs Operating Committee meetings to review progress with key stakeholders

  • Participates in Steering Committee meetings

  • Manage Program Change Control Process

  • Program Organization Delivery Structure

  • Integrated Program Plan

  • Resource Staffing Plan

  • Program Communication Plan

  • Program Risk/Issue Plan

Qualifications & Experience


  • 10+ years complex program management experience

  • Ability to work in a highly matrix environment, including cross corporate entities (a unique aspect of the role)

  • Previous experience managing merger / joint venture integration programs

  • Broad knowledge of healthcare business operations, technology infrastructure, and operations

  • Strong influencing skills

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 125,300 - 208,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
