UTHealth Houston is seeking a Research Assistant I to join their team of professionals in Neurobiology & Anatomy. The RA will be responsible for: supporting research activities and providing continuity while they recruit graduate students and postdocs; will perform lab maintenance, basic protocols, and experiments; and more. The lab uses a combination of primary tissue culture from mice and genetic and cell biological techniques in C. elegans to study neuronal homeostasis during aging. Thus, the applicant will work with both mice (basic mouse handling) and C. elegans.

General knowledge of research fields.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
No years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
